After the Race

TIMING CHIP RETURN

  • After you cross the finish line, proceed to the Chip removal chutes. A volunteer will remove and collect your Chip from you.
  • If you decide not to run on race day or do not complete your race, please return the chip to the chip collectors at the finish line.
  • If for any reason you still have your Chip after the event, wrap it in a paper towel, insert in an envelope, affix $1.04 cents postage and mail to:

  • You can also return the chip to Frontrunners Footwear, 1200 Vancouver Street, Victoria (corner of Vancouver and View Streets) until November 3rd.

WILL I BE CHARGED IF I DON'T RETURN THE CHIP?

If your Chip is not returned, an additional charge of $40.00 will be administered to the registered individual.

MEDALS & AWARDS

All finishers in the Marathon and Half Marathon will receive a finisher's medal in the finishing chute, after removing their timing chips. Kids Run participants will also receive a finisher’s medal.

CERTIFICATES

Marathon and Half Marathon finisher certificates will be able available in PDF format from the race results page on the website.

AWARDS PRESENTATIONS

The top 5 male and female places in each 5-year age category in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K receive awards. In addition, awards are given to the overall male and female, top male and female masters (40+) of all three events and top wheelchair winners. For participants aged under 19, awards for the 8K Road Race will be given as Under-12, 13-15, and 16-19. For the Marathon and Half Marathon, they will be awarded as Under-19 ONLY. Awards will be presented at the Victoria Conference Centre, the site of the RVM Race Expo.

MARATHON, HALF MARATHON AND 8K TEAM - AWARDS

  • Marathon - Open, Masters (40+), and Husband & Wife.
  • Half Marathon - Open, Masters (40+), and Husband & Wife.
  • 8K Road Race - Open, Masters (40+), and Juniors (19 and Under).

All runners on Masters teams must be at least 40 years of age. Master runners may join an Open team, but cannot be a part of both an Open team and a Masters team. Runners can be part of a Husband & Wife team and a Master or an Open team.

The finish times of the top four finishers (two for Husband & Wife) on each team count towards a cumulative score. The top 3 teams in each category receive an award.

PRIZE MONEY

The following prize money is available in the Marathon and Half Marathon, with identical awards for men and women. Open and master prize money is available to all runners of any nationality. Course record bonus is only available to Canadian citizens.
